The Robot: Rookie

This year our robot is a four wheel drive robot using Matrix 4" white wheels and two Omni wheels in front to help with steering. The front geared down basket is used to scoop blocks and place the blocks in baskets ranging from 12" from the floor to over 28". In the center of the robot is an arm that will raise to allow the robot to pull itself up on a bar that is placed in the center of a ramp. Finally, in the back of the robot is a geared up attachment used to raise a flag on the playing field in less than 3 seconds.  Our robot begins in an 18" cube configuration and can grow to over 30" long and 32" tall.

The Game: Block Party

There is a 30 second autonomous period in which the robot has to run the autonomous program. In autonomous, the robot can score its preloaded block into the correct side of the teeter totter based on the IR beacon position, then park onto the ramp. After the autonomous period, teleop begins which is where the robot is controlled by the drivers. In the two minutes of teleop the robot can score the blocks into the teeter totter trying to keep it balanced to get a bonus at the end. In the last 30 seconds of teleop the end game begins, the robot raises the flag up and can hang onto the bar with their partner.
